Constant Movement and Negative Space

Third session with the 3rd year group.  The students were working through a sequence of movements to music along the lines of 'Getting ready for the day'.  As they rehearsed and performed I was able to focus on the movements of individuals.  The constant movement meant that no gesture was ever completed in my drawings but the vaguely figure shaped blurs of activity ended up looking quite interesting so I have put them up as a new album.  Still not quite sure where this is leading but I do sense a pattern developing so watch this space.

At the request of the tutor I also gave my view of 'negative space' in my work.  Over the last couple of years I have become increasingly involved in trying to show the space between objects in my drawings and paintings.  In talking it through it was interesting to see how many parallels there are between the students' work and my own.
