Join us for a free online Q&A session ft Helen Thomas, artist in residence at Leeds Beckett University 25-26, where we'll introduce the AA2A artist residency programme, explain the application process and answer your questions about eligibility, opportunities and what to expect as a resident artist.
We'll be joined by current AA2A artist in residence Helen Thomas, based at Leeds Beckett University, who will share insights into her residency experience and how access to university facilities and resources has supported her practice.
This informal session is open to artists interested in learning more about AA2A residencies, whether you're considering applying this year or simply want to explore future opportunities.
There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion.

About AA2A
AA2A provides visual artists the opportunity to undertake a residency in a further or higher education institution, offering access to facilities, academic networks and a supportive environment to develop their practice in exchange for student engagement via talks, workshops etc.
About Helen
Helen Thomas is a Yorkshire based visual artist working predominantly with painting and drawing. Helen’s work explores responses to plants in the environment; her current line of enquiry continues to consider often overlooked, and sometimes contentious, self seeded plants in our everyday surroundings. Helen’s practice includes field and studio work, alongside educational and collaborative projects.
Helen completed a B.A in Fine Art at Falmouth School of Art and a year of postgraduate study with Turps Art School. Helen is a studio holder at The Art House in Wakefield.
