My work is a fusion of fine art, sustainability and a fascination with wood in all its forms. Experimenting with 2D and 3D approaches I manipulate mixed media and wood to explore light, texture and movement in new and unexpected ways.
I deeply respect wood as a living entity, its vital role in the eco-system and how it is entwined in human history. I meticulously restore each piece I rescue, unveiling its natural beauty and unique character. Weathered, worn, patterned, textured, these age old marks of the wood’s rich history, inspire my work and form an essential element of my mixed media approach.
The heartbeat of my art is an exploration of our raw, often precarious relationship with nature, the reciprocal scars and marks humanity and the environment etch into each other.
Fundamental to this, I work primarily in my outdoor studio, immersed in fresh air and daylight, allowing nature to guide my process. Sustainability is not just a concept but a commitment—I ensure that my methods remain as eco-conscious and carbon-neutral as possible, in harmony with the very material that inspires me.
