AA2A Resident Artist

Laura de Moxom

Schemes:

I am a socially engaged artist working with photographic and printmaking processes to create alternative archives—documenting personal experiences as a way of connecting to larger human stories.

I am curious as to how how we inscribe meaning onto objects, landscapes, and images. I collect traces—marks left by time, loss, and movement—whether by photographing personal belongings, printing with found materials, or allowing the physical world to shape my images. My process often embraces chance and decay, and is led by materiality.

My work is not just about preserving memories but about interrogating the ways we remember—how images, objects, and landscapes hold the imprints of both personal and collective histories.

Recently, my work has expanded to include walking as a form of documentation and ritual, and I am exploring a deep-seated need for connection with nature.

Sustainability is a central concern in my practice. I work with plant-based and low-impact photographic methods, embedding materials from the landscape directly into the work.

Across all my projects, I seek to create spaces where the intimate and universal meet—where the documentation of an individual experience resonates as part of a shared, ongoing human story.
