I am a contemporary painter inspired by lost and rediscovered photographs, my recent work contemplates on the notion of belonging and moments that hang uncertain - within time, memory, and culture. I think of my childhood, fragments that I remember and I wonder what had just happened, and what would happen next. Yet I conceive of memory not as something static or necessarily in the past, but as fragments that resurfaces and reforms. It is an active, felt experience that sits in the body and in the space between images. Through slow, materially driven processes, I explore memory as impressions that unfold.
