Becky Long-Smith is a British visual artist based in York, UK. Her multidisciplinary practice incorporates drawing, printmaking, collage, and stitch, with a background in illustration that informs the narrative and design-led elements of her work. She explores themes of ritual, play, ecology, and connection, often working with tactile materials and participatory methods to invite collective storytelling and reflection.
She holds a BA in Graphic Arts from Liverpool John Moores University (2007), a PGCE from Sheffield Hallam University (2010), and an MA in Creative Practice from Leeds Arts University (2023).
Recent work uses a combination of print processes and stitch to explore tactile, microecologies, and post-human perspectives through print and stitch.
Alongside her studio practice, she works as an educator and facilitator, teaching at institutions including York College, Leeds Arts University, and Manchester Metropolitan University. She regularly leads creative workshops for community groups and museums, developing inclusive, hands-on approaches that centre care, accessibility, and shared authorship.
