Han Newton is a Portsmouth-based poet, performer and filmmaker whose work spills into object-making and multisensory performance. Using humour and play, they explore desire, belief and social norms, drawing on folklore and ritual. Their award-winning poetry film They Will Not Take Away the Beauty of the Night has screened internationally, and they have performed at the Southbank Centre with Apples & Snakes, Victorious Festival and Mayflower Studios. Their writing has appeared in HNDL Magazine and Carnations, Violets & Lavender. Alongside their artistic practice, Han works as a creative facilitator and neurodiversity trainer, with extensive experience in access, participation and inclusive creative practice.
