Sinéad Corkery uses traditional fairground sign writing techniques on found, repurposed, or unexpected materials to challenge the viewer through lettering, imagery, and semantics. Drawing on the visual language of the fair, her work invites reflection on human experience, encouraging viewers to look beyond the immediate and consider how life is lived.
Her background includes sculpture, ceramics, and mixed media, and she now works full‑time as an artist creating commissions and personal work rooted in traditional sign writing. Prior to this, Sinéad had a long career as a Speech and Language Therapist supporting people with brain injuries, while continuing to develop her artistic practice.
