At New City College, our arts provision empowers students to explore their creativity with purpose. From industry-standard facilities to expert tutors and exciting live projects, we give every learner the platform to develop real-world skills, build confidence, and thrive in the creative industries. Across our 7 campuses, we have an excellent track record of working with practicing artists and this work forms a key part of our curriculum. Our external stakeholders all reflect on the ‘buzz’ of our Creative provision and how working with young people invigorates their own practice. We’re excited to host artists in residence to inspire our students, share professional insights, and bring fresh creative energy into our studios.
Epping: Open plan art studio, ceramics studio, plaster studio, machine workshop (incl laser), textiles studio, 3D studio, photo studio, dark room, multi-cam TV & podcast studio, theatre, dance studios
Hackney Sixth Form: Open studio space, 360 immersive projection studio, print facilities, fashion/textiles studio, photography and podcast studio, theatre
Hackney GFE: Open studio space, ceramics studio & kiln room, fashion pattern cutting and machining spaces (suite of industrial sewing machines) & Textiles, photography and podcast studio
Havering Sixth Form: Open plan art studio - screen printing, ceramics and printmaking. Fashion & textiles studio, architecture studio with 2D/ 3D software, 3D modelmaking, workshop with CNC, plasma and laser cutters. TV & podcast studio, photography (black & white digital studios)
Havering GFE: Open studio space, specialist print facilities, fashion/textiles studio, audio recording studio, TV & podcast studio (multi-cam, green screen), radio suite, moving image edit booths
Redbridge: Print workshop and wet area, painting & drawing studios, digital photography, Mac suites, multi-use studio incl. for filming and podcast, small breakout studio areas
Tower Hamlets: Printmaking (paper and textiles), ceramics, plaster, glass, laser, traditional hand tools, sewing machines (traditional & digital), photography (dark room), dying (natural and procion), mixed media studio space, green screen filming & podcast suite
